Synopsis

Rapid advancements in digital technologies have significantly transformed organizations’ ways of conducting business, their understanding of competition, and their leadership approaches. In this process of transformation, achieving sustainable organizational success depends not only on technological investments but also on leadership practices that foster employees’ innovative behaviors. Innovative work behavior refers to employees’ contributions to organizational innovation processes through the generation, development, promotion, and implementation of new ideas. In today’s dynamic and uncertain business environment, innovative work behaviors are regarded as a critical factor enabling organizations to gain a competitive advantage and adapt effectively to change. In this context, digital leadership has emerged as an important leadership approach that encourages employees to utilize digital technologies effectively, manages organizational change, supports continuous learning, and cultivates an innovative work culture. By integrating technological advancements with organizational objectives, digital leaders facilitate the expression of employees’ creativity and innovative potential. Furthermore, through practices that promote knowledge sharing, strengthen collaboration, and enhance employees’ digital competencies, digital leaders contribute to the development of innovative work behaviors. This chapter examines the concepts of digital leadership and innovative work behavior from a theoretical perspective and evaluates the relationship between these concepts in light of both national and international literature. In addition, recent research findings concerning the impact of digital leadership on innovative work behavior are discussed, and theoretical as well as practical implications are presented.
