Synopsis

Sustainability refers to a holistic approach that requires the simultaneous consideration of economic, social and environmental dimensions. This approach encompasses establishing a balanced structure between improving environmental performance, social responsibility and economic efficiency. Going beyond traditional growth-oriented approaches, this paradigm necessitates organisations to rethink how they generate value. In this process, the role of leadership becomes more prominent, and the financially focused management approach gives way to a multi-dimensional value creation-based approach. Green leadership aims to unite employees around an environmental vision, support innovative practices, and make sustainability a fundamental element of organisational culture. Furthermore, information sharing, employee empowerment, and the contribution of human resources practices to corporate performance are gaining importance in green decision-making processes. At this point, Green Human Resource Management integrates environmental goals with human resource processes, making sustainability part of the corporate identity. This approach enhances employees' environmental awareness, ensuring resource efficiency while providing organisations with a long-term and ethical competitive advantage. Thus, the preservation of ecological balance is integrated with corporate success; the direction and continuity of this integration are determined by green leadership through its strategic vision and value-based approach.
