Environmental Health in Disasters: A Conceptual Framework, Health Services Management, and Multidisciplinary Approaches.
Synopsis
Disasters significantly affect living conditions and disrupt essential services. Natural disasters such as earthquakes, floods, and hurricanes may damage water infrastructure and limit access to safe drinking water. This situation increases the risk of waterborne diseases. Therefore, water hygiene and safe drinking water supply are critical components of disaster management.
This study examines the importance of water hygiene, contamination risks during disasters, and methods for providing safe drinking water in emergencies. It also evaluates key strategies for maintaining water hygiene in disaster-affected areas.
