Synopsis

Apricot (Prunus armeniaca L.) is an important deciduous species of the Rosaceae family that produces stone fruits. Widely cultivated in many countries around the world, particularly in the Malatya province of Turkiye, P. armeniaca L. is a species of high economic value. Its fruits are consumed both fresh and dried, and are also processed into various products such as jam and fruit juice. In addition, apricot leaves represent a valuable bioresource that can be considered an agricultural by-product, owing to their rich phytochemical composition and significant biological properties, which confer potential applications in various fields.

In this chapter, the phytochemical profile and innovative application potential of apricot leaves are comprehensively examined in the light of scientific literature, with the aim of providing a detailed reference for future scientific studies.
