Synopsis

Sports media, with the digitalization process, has transformed into a communication field that produces information at high speed and provides instant access to large audiences. This transformation has diversified the production and dissemination processes of sports news; at the same time, it has made the issues of information accuracy and reliability a more important area of discussion. The dissemination of sports content in a highly interactive environment is considered among the main factors that increase the risk of disinformation.

In the digital media ecosystem, algorithmic structures determine the visibility of news and influence the direction of information flow. This situation prepares the ground for the rapid spread of unverified content, while increasing the importance of verification processes in sports media. Verification mechanisms and ethical principles used in sports journalism constitute the basic reference points in ensuring information reliability.

The coexistence of official and unofficial information sources in sports organizations transforms the information flow into a more complex structure. Fan behavior, social media interaction, and the dynamic nature of digital platforms directly affect the dissemination process of misinformation. In this context, the phenomenon of disinformation in sports media stands out as a multi-dimensional area that needs to be addressed in terms of both communication processes and corporate responsibility.
