Synopsis
Tourism is a labor-intensive service sector. Due to the fact that the service cannot be stored and is consumed where it is produced, and on the other hand, due to the high expectations of those waiting for service, technologies that will enable the production, sharing and storage of information in business processes are needed very quickly and safely. With the third industrial revolution, information technologies that will meet this need have come into service in all areas of the tourism sector. With the development of internet technologies and the fourth industrial revolution, business processes have accelerated, and technologies that will replace human resources have merged and products and services that will directly serve tourists have begun to be used. This section covers the development of information technologies over time and the areas of use of information technologies in the tourism sector.
