Synopsis

Töre is the totality of divine laws that regulate the creation, evolution, and life of all creatures throughout the universe, based on their natural disposition and the order of creation. Along with those who embrace this töre and shape their language, thoughts, and theories in accordance with it, and the things that belong to them, all beings that preserve their natural dispositions can also possess the quality of töreli. The patient and persevering observation of the creation, decay, and rebirth of the universe based on töre, and the contemplation of this process, is called temâşâ.

The triad of theory, theater and theology, derived from the ancient Greek word for God, “The” is essentially the most important theoretical practice shaping this töreli temâşâ. In fact, it is also the foundation of philosophy. The nature walks known as peripatein, the theoretical discussions and philosophical discourses held during these excursions, served as models for the Meşşâiyye of thought in Islamic thought, placing contemplation at the core of the Meşşâiyye.

However, rather than being merely a philosophical method, temâşâ should be viewed as the most fundamental axis that pertains to all paths of “acquiring wisdom from the universe”. Everything shaped around thought and art is nourished by temâşâ; the very essence of religion and religious life is also based on temâşâ. A person's perspective, beginning with themselves, then their family, their natural and human environment, the entire universe, and the Creator, and observing all of these with a consciousness of divine töre, will enable the emergence and development of töreli theories.

The fundamental purpose of temâşâ is to seek truth and God, and its fundamental method is to mobilize the body, mind, and heart on this path. Walking, looking, seeing, watching, hearing, listening, and speaking are the fundamental acts of temâşâ. However, temâşâ requires that all of these actions be performed together; at least one guide and at least one traveler following that guide. On this path, the eye, ear, mind, heart, and those skilled in experience and temâşâ all serve as guides. Temâşâ also means following these guides.
