Synopsis

The body of laws that is compatible with the nature and disposition of the created beings at the heart of creation and that expresses the effort to maintain this harmony is called an “töreli understanding”. Understandings that fail to consider the sustainability and compatibility of nature and disposition can be called "fabricated understandings”. Indeed, it can be said that the history of humanity is a history of conflicts arising from the tension between töreli understanding and fabricated understandings. One such environment of tension and conflict is evident in all social sciences, particularly in management and organizational science. This study aims to present these emerging understandings and provide an introduction to the intellectual basis of the “töreli management” approach.

Management, which can be summarized as the set of actions, practices, and rules involved in the conscious and systematic management and allocation of limited resources to meet unlimited needs, and in the most effective planning, organization, direction, coordination, and control of resources and needs in this management and allocation process, is a concept as old as humanity. Although conceptually as old as humanity, Western works, in particular, suggest that management as a discipline was studied after the industrial revolutions. This statement classifies studies in management dating back to the 18th-19th centuries as "pre-scientific," implying that studies prior to this period are not scientific. However, the history of science is a whole, and scientific accumulation is the result of studies conducted in a continuation of each other.

Therefore, the ignoring of the unique "töreli management" approach of a civilization known for five thousand years and as old as humanity in its unknown is objected to on scientific grounds, citing current problematic and biased approaches. In this context, this study, taking into account the relevant literature, discusses the classification and applications of scientific knowledge related to the system of "liberalism" and subsequent "neo-liberalism," which prioritize pleasure and profit maximization, and the current understanding of "management science" and the "concept of management," which has been transformed into a tool responsible for ensuring the continuation of that system.
