Synopsis

Energy is an important actor in the basic cycle of life, in the production and consumption process. With the Industrial Revolution, steam engines and various technological developments took their place as an important milestone in the field of energy. In this respect, energy economics has increasingly made its importance felt throughout the historical process and has positioned itself separately among disciplines. This work titled "Energy Economics Studies 1", the first in the Energy Economics Studies series, aims to provide readers with a broad perspective in both theory and practice by bringing together current academic studies in the field of energy economics.

Energy Economics Studies 1 book includes current and remarkable topics related to energy, from the energy economy in the banking sector to the hydrogen economy, from electricity consumption to smart energy, and from energy consumption to economic growth and income distribution. The book is a comprehensive and interdisciplinary resource for anyone interested in energy economics.

A total of eight different authors from Ankara Hacı Bayram Veli University, Atatürk University, Bitlis Eren University, İzmir Katip Çelebi University, Kastamonu University and Ordu University contributed to this valuable work. The original works of these researchers and academics, who are experts in their fields, make the book even richer and more meaningful.

The chapters in the book are as follows:

  • "The Relationship between Energy Consumption, Economic Growth and Income Distribution: An Analysis on E-7 Countries" - Prof. Dr. Adem Üzümcü and Research Assistant Nur Koç
  • "Türkiye’s Transition to Hydrogen Economy: Renewable Energy Potential, Geopolitical Location, and Logistics Infrastructure" - Associate Prof. Dr. Bülent Yıldız and PhD student Oğuzhan Yavuz
  • " Consumption Dynamics: Electricity Demand, Unemployment, and Inflation in Türkiye " - Asistant Prof. Dr. Ufuk Işık
  • "Smart Cities and Smart Energy: Living Spaces of the Future" - PhD student Halil Cem Teler and Asistant Prof. Dr. Ş. Mustafa Ersungur
  • "Studies Conducted on Energy Economy in the Banking Sector" - Asistant Prof. Dr. Esra Dursun

I would also like to thank all the authors who contributed to the first work of the series and Ozgur Press for providing us with this opportunity. The Energy Economics Studies series aims to be a fundamental academic reference source that will make a splash in this field for academics, undergraduate/graduate students, energy sector professionals, policymakers, and all readers interested in the subject. The series will continue to progress in line with its goals, as demonstrated by this first work and future volumes.
