Since the early ages, people have questioned, discussed and wanted to construct the answers to the questions of what the basic arguments of political authority are or should be in the social structure, who governs or should govern, and why and how some people take control of the exceptional power in determining the rules and politics of the social structure, apply it and why other individuals cannot do this. All these questions have been the subject of study in many different disciplines that provide the basis for political science studies, from political thought to sociology, as well as in political science. When we look at the history of the subject of leadership, it is possible to see that in the early and middle ages, leadership was widely mentioned together with the use of power and authority and was evaluated as a quality attributed only to those who governed the state. With the Age of Enlightenment, the concept changed in terms of content with pluralistic and democratic definitions, and in the 20th century, it was seen to be related not only to state administration but also to business and all kinds of organization management. Therefore, leadership, which was widely considered as managing people with power in the period it emerged, has gradually become defined with concepts such as influencing followers, directing them to a common goal, being creative, creating added value, and initiating a process. When we look at the literature, we see that there are various leadership approaches and leader typification efforts. It is not possible to say that there is only one leadership style in a manager, regardless of the field. The characteristics of the organization, environmental conditions, followers, and of course the manager cause various leader behaviors and styles to be exhibited. While it is seen that more than one leadership characteristic is exhibited, sometimes it can be seen that a management and communication process is carried out in line with a single leadership style. In this study, after investigating the theoretical development of political leadership, today's political leadership discussions are examined.
