Synopsis
The logistics sector plays a strategic role in achieving a country's sustainable development goals. The World Bank developed the LPI (Logistics Performance Index) in order to make a comparative analysis of logistics activities and to evaluate the efficiency levels between countries. BRICS countries host a significant portion of the world's population and play critical roles in global production, trade, investment and energy markets with their rapidly growing economies. The aim of the study is to analyze the logistics performances of the countries in the BRICS integration using integrated multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) methods. The objective weights of the evaluation criteria were calculated by applying the LODECI (LOgarithmic DEcomposition of Criteria Importance) and CRITIC (CRiteria Importance Through Inter-criteria Correlation) approaches. The ranking of the countries was carried out using the MARA (Magnitude of the Area for the Ranking of Alternatives) method using the determined criteria weights. As a result of the analysis carried out with the MARA method, the country with the highest logistics performance level among the BRICS countries was determined as the "UAE", while the country with the lowest performance was determined as "Iran".
