Synopsis
Yacht manufacturing, which is located in the maritime sector, is a special industry area where supply chain management gains strategic importance with its high-quality standards and customer-oriented production structure. Within this framework, supplier selection directly affects not only the efficiency of production processes, but also the global competitiveness of the maritime sector in our country and the sustainability of the supply chain. In this study, it was tried to determine the criteria regarding the importance of supplier selection, which is the focal point in yacht manufacturing, and the degrees of importance were emphasized. Based on expert opinions and supplier selection criteria in the literature, six main criteria and seventeen sub-criteria related to these main criteria were taken into consideration. In the analysis part, Fuzzy FUCOM method was used as one of the Multi-Criteria Decision-Making Methods. According to the findings, “Product Unit Price”, “Responding to Urgent Orders” and “Transportation and Logistics Expenses” have the highest importance, while “Providing Fast Communication” and “Adaptation to New Technologies” have been determined to be the lowest importance level. In addition to operators and design engineers in the yacht manufacturing sector, the study aimed at determining according to which criteria supplier selection is made at many stages of decision-making processes, including the realization of customers' orders, aims to provide a roadmap to decision makers in this aspect. In addition, the analyses were performed using Excel office program and Lingo package program in the study. This study will be the first study in the literature both in terms of determining the factors affecting supplier selection and finding their weights, and due to the application of the Fuzzy FUCOM method in the yacht manufacturing sector.
