Synopsis

One of the important issues for organizational behavior specialists in terms of being able to better understand the behaviors of individuals, which are the basic elements in the field of organization and management, and also for individuals to be able to explain the reasons for both their own and other individuals' behaviors is attribution. In the simplest terms, attribution is the general inferences that individuals make to make sense of both their own actions and the actions of the individuals around them. The evaluation of the situations that make the employees of the organization successful or cause failure and the elements used to explain these situations will also guide the employees in determining the behaviors they can exhibit in the future to be more successful. One of the elements used to explain the situations that make the employees of the organization successful or cause failure is attribution theories, which are expressed as processes aimed at determining the reasons for the behaviors of individuals and the individuals around them. Employees in organizational environments strive to exist in the organization they are in, to be able to struggle with the difficulties they may encounter, to be able to create their own internal control values, and to ensure that these internal control values are compatible with both organizational and social control values. This desire of employees leads them to use attribution processes.
