Synopsis
As rapid technological advancements impact every aspect of life, they have also significantly influenced the financial sector. In particular, the digital transformation that has emerged in recent years has accelerated this impact, leading to the entry of new players into the industry. These players are commonly referred to as FinTechs. Since their emergence, FinTechs have gained increasing importance, with both the number of companies and the volume of investments growing rapidly. The aim of this study is to present and interpret, through visual data such as charts and graphs, the total investment amounts, the number of deals, the status of various verticals, and the regional distribution of FinTechs—an important stakeholder in the financial sector—both globally and within Turkey. As a result, global investment in FinTechs reached its highest level in 2021 but declined in the following years. This downward trend is attributed to global economic and political challenges. In Turkey, although there was a steady increase in investment up to 2023, a sharp decline occurred in 2023. However, investment rebounded in 2024, reaching its highest level to date. Among the verticals, payment systems lead by a large margin both globally and in Turkey. In terms of regional investment distribution, the Americas region stands out as the recipient of the highest investment.
