Synopsis
It is known that health expenditures (public-private) within a country contribute positively to economic growth by strengthening human capital. The increasing importance of human capital in recent years makes it necessary to examine the relationship between investments in health and education and economic growth. In this study, the relationship between public health expenditures and economic growth is analysed by using the data of the Turkish economy for the period 1985-2023. Fourier Bootstrap Toda-Yamamoto Causality Test was used to evaluate the causality relationship between the variables. The findings reveal that there is a statistically significant bidirectional causality relationship between public health expenditures and economic growth.
