Synopsis

Our world, which has survived many ages in the past, has entered the digital age, which is a long-term transformation after the industrial revolution. The transformation, which we call digitalization, has manifested itself in every aspect of our lives with the rapid advancement of technology. The environments offered by digitalization provide fast and easy access. This free and fast access has accelerated the acceptance of technology at the social level, starting from the individual. Technologically based applications have created more efficient, accessible and sustainable processes. Digitalization has been used in many areas of life because it provides the desired efficiency, accessibility and sustainability elements. 'Education' is one of the service areas where the digital transformation provided by technology, which enables the rapid transfer of information to digital formats and its effective use, is experienced. 'Education is the process of bringing about the desired behavioral change permanently. As stated in the definition, the realization of permanent learning is supported by technology (Topses, 2020). In our age, where the traditional education model has been left behind, constructivist approaches that advocate the importance of learning by doing and experiencing and technologically based learning, which require active and active participation of the student, have been adopted (Alaeddinoğlu, Sivrikaya, & Alaeddinoğlu, 2023).

The journey of digitalization in education started with the use of technology and the internet, which transforms technology into services, on educational platforms. The competence of our teachers in digital literacy is as important as the importance of experts with digital competencies who build the infrastructure of transformation. Our teachers, who have an active role in education and training activities, have been enabled to keep up with the digital transformation; educational materials and programs, FATIH Project and EBA information system have offered equal opportunities to our teachers and students. The establishment of smart boards and internet infrastructure in every school with the FATIH Project has enabled digital platforms to reach our students and teachers (Elvan & Mutlubaş, 2020). With the EBA information system, activities such as collecting, analyzing, sharing and communicating data were carried out. Thus, education has moved from being limited to the school, classroom or any other place within the school to every environment where students are present.

One of the courses benefiting from digitalization in education is Physical Education and Sports. The use of new technology, especially in Physical Education and Sports courses where demonstration, case study and problem solving teaching methods are used, has an important place in enriching the course content as well as teaching the gains more accurately and quickly. Thus, the lessons are more fun and students' participation in the lesson has increased (Alaeddinoğlu & Kishalı, Ergonomics in Tennis and the Effect of Technology on the Development of Tennis Sport, 2020). When the skills desired to be gained by students are presented with the possibilities of technology, more permanent learning is realized. The movement ability that students need to acquire is reinforced by the show-and-do method. In addition, by examining the recorded works, students instantly realize the erroneous and incomplete acquisitions and receive feedback quickly. In addition, thanks to the new technology, motor skills can be evaluated faster and more accurately, as well as providing the opportunity to evaluate the changes brought about by sports in the human body.
