Synopsis

Digital transformation in healthcare is one of the most significant paradigm shifts shaping the future of the nursing profession. This chapter examines the integration of metaverse, artificial intelligence, telemedicine, and wearable technologies in pediatric and public health nursing. Metaverse technologies provide immersive therapeutic environments for pediatric patients and offer advanced simulation opportunities in nursing education. Artificial intelligence–based systems play a critical role in early diagnosis, risk assessment, and the development of personalized care plans. Telemedicine applications enhance access to healthcare services for children in rural areas, while wearable technologies enable continuous health monitoring and the development of preventive care strategies. The integration of these technologies into nursing practice not only improves the quality of care but also brings new challenges regarding ethical, legal, and security issues. This chapter evaluates current applications, future perspectives, and the opportunities created for the nursing profession through a multidisciplinary approach.
