Synopsis

Electric vehicles are rapidly gaining popularity due to several factors, including the need for energy efficiency and the fight against the ecological crisis. These vehicles produced by various automotive companies, present a selection problem for consumers. In this study, six alternative electric vehicles are ranked using eight different criteria through the LOPCOW-APLOCO integrated multi-criteria decision-making methods, which are applied for the first time in the literature. The LOPCOW method, an objective weighting technique, was employed to assign weights to the criteria, while the APLOCO method was used to solve the selection problem. As a result of the study, the criteria are ranked in order of importance as follows: price, acceleration, energy consumption, weight, maximum speed, range, motor power, and torque. After solving the selection problem, the electric vehicles are ranked as A2, A1, A3, A6, A5, and A4.
