Synopsis

The relationship between exercise, nutrition, and health is one of the most significant scientific and social topics of our time. Sedentary lifestyles, inadequate nutrition, and environmental factors negatively affect not only individual well-being but also societal welfare. This book, titled “Exercise, Nutrition and Health: Individual and Societal Perspectives,” addresses the multidimensional effects of physical activity and nutrition on health through an interdisciplinary approach.

The chapters in this volume present the physiological, psychological, and social outcomes of exercise and nutrition across different ages and stages of life, grounded in scientific evidence. The importance of exercise during menopause, the development of physical fitness in children, the role of probiotics in sports nutrition, the protective effects of exercise and physical activity against cigarette and e-cigarette exposure, and the contributions of exercise and nutrition to cardiometabolic health are discussed in light of current research findings.

This work emphasizes that exercise science extends beyond performance-focused boundaries and serves as a powerful tool in protecting both individual and public health. The book aims to provide a reliable reference for academics, practitioners, and students working in the fields of sport sciences, nutrition, physiology, and health.

I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all the authors and researchers whose scientific contributions made this work possible, and I hope that this book will offer a valuable contribution to the existing body of literature.
