Synopsis
Cardiometabolic health is a crucial determinant in the prevention and management of obesity, type 2 diabetes, hypertension, dyslipidemia, and cardiovascular diseases. This chapter comprehensively examines indicators such as body composition, blood pressure, glycemic control, lipid profile, inflammatory markers, and cardiorespiratory fitness. Aerobic, resistance, and high-intensity interval exercises improve blood pressure, insulin sensitivity, and lipid metabolism while enhancing cellular energy balance and anti-inflammatory responses. Evidence-based dietary models such as the Mediterranean and DASH diets further strengthen metabolic regulation and reduce systemic inflammation. The combination of exercise and nutrition yields the most effective outcomes in managing obesity, diabetes, hypertension, and dyslipidemia. Psychosocial and socioeconomic factors also influence cardiometabolic risk. Ultimately, individualized and sustainable lifestyle strategies supported by digital health technologies and community-based interventions provide effective, long-term solutions for promoting cardiometabolic health at both individual and population levels.
