Synopsis
Today, urbanization, technological advancements, and changing lifestyles have significantly influenced how individuals utilize their leisure time. In this context, the importance of alternative recreational activity spaces is steadily increasing. Parks and public open spaces provided by local governments offer accessible and cost-free opportunities for physical and social activities, while private sports centers cater to more specific needs through professional and diversified services.
This study comparatively examines the role of public parks and green spaces managed by local governments and privately operated sports centers in meeting the recreational needs of individuals. It also evaluates these two types of facilities in terms of user satisfaction, accessibility, sustainability, and social contribution. The findings highlight the importance of fostering collaboration between public and private sectors to create more inclusive and effective recreational environments.
