Discussions of different thinkers on power remind us of the importance of critical thinking and plural perspectives. As the search for justice, freedom and democracy in society continues, it is more essential than ever to analyze how power works. The theoretical perspectives compared in this report, when used in a complementary way, allow us to see power; it’s not only a mechanism of oppression but also as a productive, shaping and potentially transformative force. In this way, we can evaluate the power relations in which we live as individuals and societies more consciously and be equipped with the ideas to demand and realize the changes necessary for a more egalitarian and liberatory future.
