Synopsis

Folk dances stand out in the literature as activities that not only preserve cultural heritage but also support the physical, social, and psychological development of individuals. In these dances, team spirit is considered not only an element that enhances performance quality but also a functional dimension that strengthens individuals' sense of collective belonging. In folk dance activities conducted as part of leisure activities, team spirit can be said to play a central role in fostering group harmony, strengthening social ties, and meeting individuals' psychosocial needs.

Folk dance can be defined as a "collective art" form in which individuals come together to share a common aesthetic and emotion. Therefore, educators and coaches should support activities and effective communication processes that strengthen team spirit beyond technical training, thus ensuring the creation of dance ensembles that are both high-performing, harmonious, and highly motivated.
