Synopsis
This study examines the issue of power-sharing between spouses from sociological and political science perspectives. The main aim of the study is to contribute to the formation of a sustainable family model by subjecting the claims of patriarchy and radical feminism to critique through a dialogical method. The approach adopted is liberal conservatism, and extreme views that reject the ontology of the family are kept at a distance. The study argues that power is ontologically indivisible but can be shared democratically. In this context, the "democratic family" is the central topic of discussion. The democratic family model could provide common ground for egalitarian demands and a sustainable family.
