Synopsis

Strategy is the process of aligning a business's resources and core capabilities with its environment to achieve its goals. Strategic planning, on the other hand, is defined as the process of developing and maintaining a strategic alignment between an organization's goals and capabilities and changing marketing opportunities. Due to changing conditions and new needs, companies must revise their strategic plans and utilize expertise appropriate to these new dynamics.

Information is important, but expertise in information is even more important than information itself. Information expertise is not limited to acquiring information; it also encompasses analyzing information in a needs-oriented manner and using it correctly within strategic planning. Today, information is indispensable for excellent strategic management. Successfully managing business strategies is only possible by correctly managing internal and external information and making the best use of information technologies in business facilities.

In this context, current strategic management practices are examined in detail in light of the valuable information discussed under the headings of strategy, strategic planning, mission, business model, current approaches in the business world, current strategic management tools, current strategic management practices in global trade, strategic management practices focusing on corporate social responsibility, and finally, green strategic management practices.
