Synopsis

The impact of digitalization on the financial sector is increasing day by day, and this situation is also leading to the reshaping of banking activities. Especially in developing countries like Turkey, it is of great importance to make strategic decisions based on multi-dimensional criteria in order to develop digital banking applications in a sustainable and competitive manner. In this study, the multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) approach was adopted in order to determine the most critical criteria in the digital banking environment in Türkiye. Criteria weights were calculated with Fuzzy Weights by ENvelope and SLOpe (B-WENSLO) based on expert opinions of decision makers. In the study, a total of ten criteria such as customer experience and accessibility, security, compliance with regulations, digital infrastructure, cost effectiveness, and innovation capacity were analyzed and the relative importance of each was evaluated. The findings show that customer focus, innovation, and operational efficiency are prominent in digital banking. The research both contributes to the academic literature and provides decision support to managers developing digital banking strategies. In addition, the study findings offer managerial implications for banks in Turkey to shape their digital transformation strategies.
