Synopsis

This work is the product of an original study with chapter contributions from multiple authors, some of whom are academics trained in or still teaching in the discipline of "Gemology and Jewelry." In this respect, it is one of the pioneering publications in the Turkish language. The world of gemology and jewelry is a fascinating point where the dispassionate analysis of science intersects with the passionate aesthetics of art. While many people have heard the word "jewelry," they may be unfamiliar with the meaning of the word "gemology." In fact, the word "gem" means two ores, two precious commodities. One of these ores is a noble metal (gold, silver, and the platinum group (platinum, palladium, etc.), and the other is a precious stone or stones (diamonds, rubies, sapphires, emeralds, pearls, etc.).
