Synopsis

In many developed and developing countries today, local governments take on important responsibilities as well as central government in the implementation of social policies. The state is supported by the closest units to the citizen when it can provide the understanding of "social state". Naturally, the weight of the local administrations within the social policy system varies depending on the political, cultural and historical accumulation of the country and this situation is reflected in the legislation of the country. "The aforementioned distinction underscores the necessity for a more in-depth examination of local social policy. This multi-authored volume, titled 'Local Governments and Social Policy', has been prepared with this objective in mind."

Many academics and researchers contributed to this book study, in which 4 different studies from various departments of social sciences take place. All the scientific and ethical responsibilities of the thoughts and articles presented in each section belong to the author(s) of that relevant section. It is our greatest wish that our book, including several valuable studies produced by numerous academics and researchers with a great effort, devotion and rigor would contribute to the world of science and pioneer new studies.
