TOURGASTREC II
Synopsis
Is a plate of food merely a flavor, or is it the memory of a culture? Is a journey simply a movement, or is it a person's journey of self-rediscovery? How individuals spend their leisure time is not only a personal preference but also a significant indicator that determines the quality of life. Today, tourism, gastronomy, and recreation stand out not just as economic activities, but as vital research areas that shape the identity, cultural memory, and lifestyle of societies. Digitalization, sustainability, and changing consumption habits are reshaping both the theoretical framework and the practical applications of these fields.
TOURGASTREC II is an edited academic work that aims to address this transformation emerging in the fields of tourism, gastronomy, and recreation from an interdisciplinary perspective. The book consists of 27 chapters contributed by 43 academics from various universities and research institutions, reflecting a broad academic diversity represented by 22 different institutions. This multi-voiced structure aims to contribute to the current debates in the field and to bring together different academic perspectives.
I would like to extend my sincere thanks to all chapter authors who contributed to the emergence of this work with their knowledge and experience.
