The primary goal of teaching Turkish as a native language is to develop students' basic language skills and, consequently, their communication skills. This aims to help students develop their comprehension skills as good listeners and readers, and their expressive skills as good speakers and writers. Achieving this goal also enables students to develop effective communication skills. Individuals who communicate effectively adapt to society and achieve their goals more easily. The concept of persuasion is crucial for effective communication. Persuasion, which has become a more important skill in the 21st century than in the past, is now constantly present in daily life. With the proliferation of media, and especially social media, people are exposed to hundreds, even thousands, of persuasive messages every day. Therefore, the ability to analyze persuasive messages and compose persuasive texts has become skills studied in schools. Therefore, the Turkish Language Curriculum (2024) places emphasis on the concept of persuasion and persuasive writing skills, and students are asked to gradually create persuasive texts.

This study provides information about the communication process and persuasion, then attempts to demonstrate how a successful persuader should utilize language and psychological elements. It explores how using the right words facilitates changing people's emotions and thoughts, while the psychological elements of reciprocity, commitment and consistency, social proof, love, authority, scarcity, opposition, and compromise play a role in persuasion. After outlining how the Turkish Language Curriculum (2024) addresses persuasion and persuasive writing, the concept of persuasive writing and its elements are explored. The study concludes with a practical demonstration of how a persuasive text can be created using ChapGPT, one of the artificial intelligence language models. Writing the right prompts reveals the elements of a persuasive text, and consequently, a persuasive text.
