Synopsis

In today’s digitalized world, artificial intelligence (AI) technologies play a transformative role in education. Turkish language teaching is no longer confined to grammar and literary text analysis but has evolved into a multidimensional field that also embraces 21st-century skills such as communication, creativity, problem-solving, and critical thinking. In this regard, integrating STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) with Turkish teaching offers an innovative vision that supports interdisciplinary learning. AI-supported applications further enrich this integration by providing personalized learning opportunities. Natural language processing-based writing assistants, speech recognition systems, and learning analytics tools enable differentiated instruction and enhance student performance. This chapter presents the theoretical framework of AI and STEM integration in Turkish language education and discusses disciplinary literacy and scientific communication skills in light of national and international literature. Moreover, practical classroom applications such as storytelling on environmental issues, transforming scientific reports into narratives, and STEM-based debates are introduced as concrete examples. The study reveals that AI-supported STEM applications in Turkish teaching enhance students’ linguistic, cognitive, and creative skills while offering teachers a strong pedagogical roadmap. In this sense, the chapter provides an innovative perspective for both educators and researchers.
