Bülent Ecevit, a key figure in modern Turkish politics, was also a well-rounded individual who contributed to literature, poetry, and translation. This study focuses on his translation activities and explores Ecevit’s multidimensional identity using Pierre Bourdieu’s field theory. Ecevit’s life is examined particularly through the lens of art, literature, and translation, offering a socio-translatorial analysis based on Bourdieu’s theoretical framework. The study includes a detailed literature review of Bourdieu’s concepts, a Bourdieusian interpretation of Ecevit’s biography and a section following the methodology developed to study Ecevit's translator habitus.  In this context, Ecevit’s translator habitus, which has often been overshadowed by his political achievements, is brought to the forefront. It is revealed that Ecevit’s multifaceted life presents an ideal case for analysis within the Bourdieusian framework, especially in the context of translation sociology. The study further shows that before his involvement in politics, Ecevit actively participated in art, literature, and journalism. His translator habitus, shaped by his intellectual identity and an early love of art nurtured by his parents, played a crucial role in his rise to becoming the Prime Minister of Turkey.
