Synopsis
Auditory rehabilitation is a fundamental intervention method that aims to develop language and speech skills in individuals with hearing loss, especially during childhood. The process aims to interpret the sound information received through appropriate amplification (hearing aids, cochlear implants), ensure speech development, and improve communication skills. However, interest, motivation, and participation are of great importance in processes carried out with children. At this point, gamification can be used as an empowering method to make interventions more interactive and sustainable.
Auditory rehabilitation plays a critical role in enabling individuals with hearing loss to develop and participate in society. Early intervention for hearing loss is particularly important during early childhood, and brain plasticity plays a key role in the process. In addition to traditional therapy methods, the gamification approach is important for increasing motivation and making learning processes more effective and efficient. Gamified auditory rehabilitation has the potential to strengthen the participation of individuals and caregivers in therapy, develop language skills, and increase overall communication proficiency.
