Synopsis

Today, it is important for employees working in organizations to feel a part of the organization and participate in decisions. The passive employee profile in traditional management theory, whose motivation is wages, has been replaced by active, participatory, competitive, and healthy employee characteristics. Here, the concepts of employee participation; delegation of authority, personnel empowerment, personnel authorization, employee liberation and organizational democracy are explained. First of all, delegation of authority is the transfer of authority from one manager or organizational unit to another in order to fulfill certain tasks. Personnel empowerment can be expressed as activities such as increasing the position power of employees, providing employees with the opportunity to access and use resources, increasing the training and development competence of employees, increasing their motivation and increasing their self-confidence. Another contemporary management concept, personnel empowerment, refers to employees becoming individuals who participate in decision-making processes, have control over their own work and can produce creative solutions, rather than being passive implementers who only fulfill assigned tasks. The concept of employee liberation, on the other hand, refers to employees not being limited to job descriptions, but also being able to take more initiative in decision-making, problem-solving and business processes. Finally, organizational democracy refers to the involvement of all individuals in the organization, not just managers or shareholders, in decision-making and management processes.
