Synopsis

From the Editor

The primary and most important way for Turkish youth to discover their power, talents and achievements in history as a nation, in short, the noble blood in their veins, is to learn their history. As stated in Afet İnan's work titled Atatürk Hakkında Hatıralar ve Belgeler (Memories and Documents About Ataturk);“Our ancestors, who founded great states, had great and comprehensive civilizations. It is our duty to search for this, to examine it, and to inform it to Turkishness and the world. As the Turkish nation gets to know its history and ancestors, it will find the strength to do greater things."

The following statements are included in the work titled AnafartalarMuhaberatına Ait Tarihçe (History of Anafartalar Correspondence) by our Great Leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, who advocated at every opportunity that the history of the nation and the world should be studied comprehensively scientifically: “What a beautiful mirror history is. People, especially the morally developed tribes, take their souls away from men by being subject to selfish feelings even in the face of the greatest sacred concepts. In the great events that go down in history, it shows the attitudes, actions and behaviors of those who are responsible and active in these events, clearly showing their moral realization."

This book, titled Tarih Alanında Seçme Yazılar -VI-  (Selected Writings in the Field of History -VI-), has been prepared with the idea of expanding the range of historical research, depending on the increasing scientific literature in today's technology. This book in the first chapter repared by Nil Türker Tekin; “Election, Press and Propaganda in Election Years”, in the second chapter prepared by Seher Yücetürk; “Grant as a Way to Obtain an Inheritance in the First Quarter of the 17th Century", in the third chapter prepared by Süleyman Sinin “A General Evaluation on the Phenomenon of Migration and Migration Theories in the Historical Process”, in the fourth chapter prepared by Nihal Gezen; “Slave Identities of Mamluk Sultans and Its Reflection on Mamluk Diplomacy”,  in the fifth chapter prepared by Ercan Alan; “New Copies of the Hüccet-i Şerriyye Signed Between Mustafa IV and the Janissaries”, in the sixth chapter prepared by Zeynep İskefiyeli; Armenians in ABCFM's Books for Young People (Mission Stories of Many Lands Example)”, in the seventh chapter prepared by Muhittn Kavık; “Karabakh Problem in History and Today”, in the eighth chapter prepared by Yasin Taş ; “One Builder, One Mosque: Kürkçüzade Bican Ağa and Suruç Ahmed Bican Mosque”, in the ninth chapter prepared by Yusuf Ötenkaya; “Staying in the Shadow of the Ayyubid Lineage: The Issue of the Sultan's Legitimacy in the Formative Years of the Mamluk State”, in the tenth chapter prepared by Ceylan Erva Kılıç; “Sıbyan Mektebs in the Ottoman Classical Period”, in the  eleventh chapter prepared by Mehmet Ali Türkmenoğlu; “Tax Provisions in the Justice Books (An Analysis Based on the Justice Books of the Period of Ahmet I)”, in the twelfth chapter prepared by Mehmet Ali Türkmenoğlu; “The Ottoman Judge's Quest for Assurance: The Presence and Activities of Case Witnesses (Şühûdü'l Hâl) in Court”, in the thirteenth chapter prepared by Metin Aksoy; “Evaluation of Turkey's Straits Policy at the Beginning of World War II within the Framework of Realism”, articles are available.
