Synopsis
Public finance is related to many disciplines including economics, business administration, sociology, psychology, law and political science. Therefore, public finance is a broad discipline. This study consists of four chapters that examine current issues in public finance. The chapters in the book are as follows: Associate Professor Doctor Berkan KARAGÖZ, in the chapter titled “The Frugal Economy from the Perspective of Public Finance Science”, the concept of contented economy is examined and evaluated in terms of fiscal science. Assistant Professor Doctor Neslihan BURGAZ, in the section titled “An Evaluation of Türkiye’s Economic Growth in the Post-2020 Period” the economic growth performance of the Turkish economy in the 2020-2024 period and the contribution of agriculture, industry and service sectors to economic growth were analyzed. Assistant Professor Doctor Servet TAŞDELEN, "Protecting Public Health through the Pricing of Harmful Products: The Role of Sin Taxes”, examined the role of sin taxes in protecting public health through the pricing of products harmful to health. Research Assistant Şeref Can SERİN, Assistant Professor Doctor Murat ALBAYRAK, Assistant Professor Doctor Oğuzhan BOZATLI, "Government-Private Consumption Nexus in OECD Countries: Complementary or Substitution?" empirically examined the impact of public expenditures, which is accepted as one of the determinants of private consumption, on the effectiveness of fiscal policies and new panel data analysis was used using data from 38 OECD member countries between 2000 and 2023.
