Synopsis

Artificial intelligence is increasingly becoming a part of every aspect of our daily lives. The aviation sector is one of the pioneering industries that adopts the latest technologies and innovations early on. In particular, over the past few years, numerous artificial intelligence applications have been observed in the civil aviation industry or announced by companies via social media. Airlines, maintenance organizations, simulators, ground handling companies, flight schools, airworthiness units, aviation cargo companies, air traffic management, and all other stakeholders involved in aviation management are closely following these developments and attempting to adapt these applications to their own activities in order to increase their competitive strength and utilize them in a way that makes their operations efficient, economical, effective, safer, more secure, and profitable. This is particularly true because aviation management organizations that implement artificial intelligence technologies and/or applications, which are a subcomponent of digitalization as a process in aviation management, will have the opportunity to be one step ahead of other companies in the upcoming period. For these reasons, this study was prepared with the aim of contributing to the field by providing various examples of artificial intelligence applications in aviation management as a starting point, offering a perspective on the sector, and addressing the lack of comprehensive Turkish academic resources. It is hoped that similar studies will increase in the field of aviation management in the coming period. We hope all readers will enjoy and appreciate this publication.
