The Women, making up half of the world population, have contributed in the increase of social wealth throughout history, however, they have faced problems in accessing the rights and benefits that come with this increase. International agreements, national legal enforcements became effective in the annihilation of many problems in the integration of women with social life and international organisations and governments developed policies in cooperation. However, all these efforts could neither improve social status nor eliminate the problems of the women.

Policies adopted regarding women are an important indicator that shows the development level of the states. On the other hand, women hold a key role for social progress and sustainable development. This condition presents the importance of women more clearly in developing countries like Türkiye. With this book study, it is aimed to enrich the literature regarding the status and the problems of the women based on gender. Many academics and researchers contributed to this book study, in which 8 different studies from various departments of social sciences take place. All the scientific and ethical responsibilities of the thoughts and articles presented in each section belong to the author(s) of that relevant section. It is our greatest wish that our book, including several valuable studies produced by numerous academics and researchers with a great effort, devotion and rigor would contribute to the world of science and pioneer new studies.
